Design Perspective: Using "Paper" as a Medium to Build a High-End Dialogue Space for Industry, Academia, and Research
Modular Space: Six Themes, Cross-Disciplinary Dialogues
Diverse Scenarios: Covering fields such as Creative Arts, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Health and Well-being, Humanities and Culture, Sustainable Development, and Technological Innovation.
Application of Color Psychology: Each zone was given a unique color identity – for example, soft pink for the “Health and Well-being” zone and a wise blue for the “Technological Innovation” zone. This color guidance not only enhanced the logic of the space but also subtly guided in-depth cross-disciplinary dialogues.
Ingenious Craftsmanship: The Infinite Possibilities of Paper-Based Materials
Complex Structural Realization: A large number of mortise-and-tenon interlocking structures were applied on-site. From the streamlined reception desk to the geometrically three-dimensional display walls, adhesive-free assembly was achieved throughout, demonstrating the high engineering precision and shaping capability of paper-based materials.
Immersive Experience: An “Interactive Zone,” jointly presented by seven faculties, was also set up, using paper display stands to present the latest research achievements, reflecting HKBU’s fruitful results in interdisciplinary research.
Industry Feedback
Industry Acclaim: Dr. Kennedy Wong Ying-ho, Chairman of the HKBU Council, and Professor Alexander Wai Ping-kong, President of HKBU, both affirmed the concept of “Whole Person Education” presented on-site through innovative exhibition installations.
Social Impact: This model of “serving high-end dialogue with green design” successfully highlighted HKBU’s deep reflection on humanity’s unique empathy, imagination, and sense of social responsibility in the context of the artificial intelligence era.
