Design Perspective: Using "Paper" as a Brush to Outline Hunan's Great Transformations in Shanghai

As a window for Hunan Tourism Group to reach the Yangtze River Delta market, the core of this design lies in seamlessly integrating Hunan’s profound cultural heritage with its innovative achievements in mountain tourism through the modern artistic expression of new paper-based materials

Landscape Replication: Bringing the Vivid Mountain Scenery into Shanghai

Leveraging the high malleability of paper-based materials, we microscopically recreated Hunan's splendid landscapes in the center of the Shanghai exhibition hall through interlocking and layering techniques.

Xuefeng Mountain Cable Car Miniature Landscape: Honeycomb paperboard was used to precisely die-cut the contours of rolling mountains, supplemented with real ropes to simulate the “world’s longest alpine cable car.” This dynamic paper-based installation vividly presented the engineering marvel of “one cable spanning two cities,” attracting numerous investment institutions.

Multi-Dimensional Cultural Wall: Iconic Hunan landmarks such as Yueyang Tower, Dongting Lake, and Shaoshan Scenic Area were displayed on the backdrop wall in the form of paper-based reliefs at staggered heights, creating an immersive cultural tourism experience where views change with every step, transcending time and space.

Functional Integration: Deep Alignment of Environmental Protection and Commerce

All-Paper Office System: The reception desk and meeting tables and chairs within the booth were integrally formed from high-strength blue paperboard. These furnishings are not only extremely lightweight for convenient cross-provincial transportation but also possess strong load-bearing stability, fully demonstrating our company’s mature commercial application capabilities in “replacing wood with paper.”

Folk Art Exhibition Gallery: A special paper-based curio shelf was set up on-site to display cultural and creative products such as Hunan embroidery and ceramics. The warm and delicate texture of the paperboard provides an excellent green display background for these traditional crafts.

Industry Feedback

The Xuefeng Mountain cable car and a series of cultural tourism projects made a stunning debut against the backdrop of the paper art display, successfully building a promotion platform for the Yangtze River Delta market. Attendees and investment institutions highly praised this approach of expressing “hard-core infrastructure projects” through “green, soft materials,” believing it not only showcases Hunan’s cultural tourism innovation but also sets a new trend for green exhibition practices at major domestic cultural expos.
