Design Perspective: Bringing Denim Fabric into an Exploratory Industrial Scene

This project differs from the 2018 version, which leaned more towards a “fashion window” expression. The 2019 exhibition hall shifted towards scene narration with a stronger sense of the outdoors, machinery, and workwear aesthetics. The overall space uses an off-white primary tone, complemented by black line-drawn graphics and a bright yellow off-road vehicle installation, creating a restrained yet distinct visual contrast.
The design focus was to transform denim fabric from a single-material display into a complete scene applicable to urban commuting, outdoor exploration, workwear trends, and young lifestyles. Wall illustrations of paragliders, airplanes, travel gear, and figures established a thematic atmosphere of adventure and distant journeys, while display cabinets, shelves, and ready-to-wear arrangements ensured the product presentation and business communication functions required for a professional exhibition.

1. Industrial Scene Building: Containers and Off-Road Vehicles Create Brand Memory Points

The project utilized an industrial scene language and large-scale paper-based installations to reinforce the denim brand's tough character and spatial recognition.

Paper-Based Off-Road Vehicle Themed Installation: A bright yellow off-road vehicle shape was placed at the core of the exhibition hall, constructed using paper-based panels through special-shaped cutting, interlocking assembly, and structural shaping. With its exaggerated mechanical contours, tire details, and body structure, the installation formed a visual focal point, resonating with the brand associations of denim – durability, freedom, outdoor spirit, and exploration – while also creating a strong photo-taking memory point for the booth.

Container-Style Display System: Using containers and industrial cargo units as spatial prototypes, the exhibition hall embedded jeans, fabric samples, and brand imagery within them. These modular units served both product display and spatial division functions, while reinforcing the visual language of industrial warehousing, transportation, and urban workwear, giving the hall greater thematic integrity.

Exploratory Narration: From Product Display to Immersive Brand Experience

Through wall graphics, transportation elements, and visitor flow lines, the project elevated the exhibition hall from a functional display space to a brand experience venue with a narrative quality.

Hand-Drawn Line Art Scene Walls: Large-area background systems featuring black-and-white line drawings of paragliders, airplanes, travel gear, and figures created an open, free, and exploratory spatial atmosphere. The line art style, combined with the off-white industrial space, retained the hall’s clean aesthetic while enhancing brand storytelling.

Fabric and Ready-to-Wear Display Flow: The hall featured display cabinets, podiums, ready-to-wear display areas, and branded lightboxes, presenting denim fabrics continuously from samples and trousers to styling scenes. Clients could understand product texture, color, fit, and application through a complete flow, improving product selection efficiency and business negotiation experience at professional exhibitions.

Industry Feedback

The Hengfeng Denim Exhibition 2019 Industrial Exploration Themed Exhibition Installation used paper-based materials to shape a denim fabric display space that integrates an industrial feel, outdoor spirit, and trendy expression. Through the off-road vehicle installation, container display units, line art scene walls, and ready-to-wear display systems, the project elevated fabric presentation from traditional product display to an immersive brand experience. Its lightweight, modular, and recyclable paper-based exhibition approach not only enhanced the brand’s visual recognition and customer dwell time at the professional exhibition but also provided the textile and apparel industry with a more story-driven, environmentally friendly, and flexible exhibition hall solution.
