Design Perspective: Transforming the Activity Center into a Children’s Exploration Theatre
Centered on the core experiential thread of “Exploring the World”, this project integrates diverse cultural, regional and narrative elements into the space. Scenes including forest treehouses, vintage trains, Silk Road camels, ancient oriental pagodas, ocean sailing ships and world map walls together form a storytelling-oriented youth activity center.
The design focuses far beyond mere spatial decoration; it leverages scene-based design to stimulate children’s curiosity and willingness to engage. Kids can experience natural exploration in the treehouse zone, imagine journeys amid train and sailing ship installations, encounter diverse cultures beside camel and pagoda scenes, and build global awareness along themed corridors and map walls. The venue evolves from a single-function activity site into an immersive growth theatre.
Exploration Scenarios: Multi-Themed Installations Link Up Growth Experiences
Forest Treehouse & Vintage Train Scene:
At the core of the activity center lie treehouses, platforms, fences, ramps and a vintage train installation, creating a child-friendly space integrating play and exhibition. The treehouse symbolizes exploration of nature, while the train stands for distant travel and discovery. Together they form the most memorable visual landmark of the space and encourage parent-child interaction and prolonged stays.
Silk Road Camel & Ancient Oriental Pagoda Installation:
Large-scale camel sculptures and red ancient pagoda installations are arranged throughout the space, paired with backdrops of moons, clouds and human figures to craft culturally imaginative scenes. Using paper-based materials, large thematic forms are realized in a lightweight manner through special-shaped cutting, layered assembly and color rendering, allowing children to perceive regional cultures and historical symbols through visual experience.
Cultural Journey: From Spatial Decoration to Educational Scene Transformation
Sailing Ship & Ocean Themed Wall:
Giant sailing ship and wave graphics form the visual focal point of the wall, complemented by lighting and three-dimensional structures to recreate the narrative scene of ocean voyages. Beyond enriching spatial layers, the sailing ship installation embodies the spirit of “Set off, Explore, Grow”, making it ideal for drama activities, themed courses and parent-child photo spots.
World Map & Themed Corridor System:
Corridors feature world maps, children’s portraits, color zoning and information displays to deliver clear wayfinding and cultural exhibition functions. A smooth circulation path runs from the entrance to activity zones, helping teenagers orient themselves easily and turning ordinary passageways into educational display interfaces.
