Design Perspective: Transforming Paper into an Imaginative World for Kids to Step Inside
Breaking away from children’s parks that rely heavily on plastic, wood and fiberglass sculptures, this project takes paper-based materials as the core creative medium, translating the material’s lightweight, eco-friendly, malleable and recyclable features into exclusive design language for kids’ spaces.
Bright yellow, green, blue and orange dominate the overall space, paired with fairy-tale elements including animals, trains, castles, forests, insects and hot air balloons to build a strong narrative and exploratory atmosphere. Instead of simply placing amusement equipment, paper-based structures connect various themed zones, allowing children to run, climb, wander, observe and interact within a fantasy world entirely built from paper.
Paper Dreamland: Large-Scale Installations Build Immersive Park Scenes
Giant Paper Gorilla Installation:
A large white gorilla sculpture stands at the core of the venue, assembled by slicing, plugging and layering honeycomb and corrugated paper boards. Structural lines create powerful sculptural texture; serving as the central visual landmark, it becomes an iconic spot for kids to explore, view and take photos, fully demonstrating paper’s shaping capacity and structural stability for large irregular installations.
Paper Train & Fairy-Tale Castle Scenes:
Multiple themed installations including paper trains, castles, slides, hot air balloons and hanging insect ornaments integrate transportation, adventure, fairy tales and nature. Children can freely wander between scenes along a continuous play route, greatly enhancing the space’s storytelling value and dwell appeal.
Interactive Gathering Hub: Integration of Amusement, Art Education and Commercial Space
Maze Exploration Play System:
Paper-based mazes, openings, low walls, steps and slides form play paths designed for kids to crawl, climb, hide and explore. Rounded edges and soft texture of paper modules guarantee fun, safety and approachability.
Forest Classroom & Art Interaction Zone:
A forest-themed learning and activity area is furnished with paper trees, animal sculptures, tables, chairs and wall graphics to create a natural classroom setting. The space hosts parent-child activities, handcraft workshops, picture book reading and themed seminars, turning the paper playground into an art education venue that guides children to observe nature, spark creativity and embrace environmental protection concepts.
